The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug fans can return to Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole in the comfort of their own home, from April 8. But for anyone who's eager to pre-order their copy now, can do so today from select online stores!

Target is just one store which has the Limited Collector's Edition (with the Noble Collection bookends) and the set of Blu-ray/DVD with LEGO Legolas figure available for pre-order.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second part of Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel. In the movie, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) and his pals continue their journey to the Lonely Mountain, where Bilbo must find the secret door that will lead them to the treasure of the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch).

Much has been made of Jackson's decision to split the diminutive Hobbit into three films. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey had some unnecessary padding which served no purpose other than to give Elijah Wood some screen time, and those of you who have already seen The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will know that they managed to flesh the plot out with a (perhaps pretty unnecessary) love story.

That said, will you be splashing your cash on The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on DVD or Blu-ray, or are you gonna wait for the ULTIMATE DIAMOND PLATINUM SUPER MEGA COLLECTOR'S EDITION when all 3 movies are finally done? Let me know in the comment section below!
