Recently we've seen rumors of Scarlet's Black Widow possibly showing up on Agents of Shield and the internet is abuzz with news of her expecting a child and how that moves up her schedule. But, with all of this hubbub, don't think Marvel has forgotten about a stand alone film or her importance in the scheme of things!

Marvel head, Kevin Feige, was quoted by COMING SOON
“I think the idea would be great. We’ve got various outlines and ideas of where to take that. As Scarlett already said, there’s a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature. The question really is, ‘When will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing?’ As you saw in ['Captain America: The Winter Soldier'], as you’ll see in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ she’s really the key to so much of the plot development.”

THE KEY? Now I think this is thought provoking. How is the Widow the KEY to 'so much of the plot development'? Can't wait to find out personally. And, to boot, see how they will split her off from the Avengers to star in her stand alone film. Does this mean we have to wait till at least after Avengers 3?

Also for all of you naysayers (I was one of them) who decried there weren't enough strong female leads; looks like Marvel is about to school us in this respect with Scarlet Witch and Ms. Marvel coming on. AND they may probably shut all of our mouths about Marvel's racist 60s bent by bringing Falcon and Iron Patriot up in the ranks and introducing great characters like Luke Cage and the Black Panther into the fray!

It's a great time to be a comic nerd!!
