Today is the day we've all been waiting for. The day when - after the disappointing scheduling shift - we finally get to see a trailer for Wes Ball's adaptation of James Dashner's YA dystopian novel, The Maze Runner. But before we get there, take a look at the latest still from the movie, to get us all prepped for that 3-minute-long run of tension!

MTV posted this on their Instagram page, ahead of the movie's September 19 release:

From the looks of it, elected titular runner Thomas and the other Glade members are planning something... An escape from the maze through a Griever Hole?

If you haven't read James Dashner's book yet, The Maze Runner follows a young man named Thomas (Dylan O'Brien), who wakes up in a pitch black lift, remembering nothing about his life besides his first name. When the lift eventually comes to a stop and the doors open he finds himself amongst other teenagers in a large expanse they call The Glade. They are surrounded by a maze made of stone walls, hundreds of feet high, changing positions every night. No one in this place remembers who they are, but they are all searching for a way to get out.

Does this new, brooding image of Thomas make you excited for The Maze Runner, or are you worried that the movie won't live up to the intriguing concept of the YA book? Let me know in the comment section below!

Don't forget - The Maze Runner arrives in theaters September 19, 2014.
