After confirmation that director Bryan Singer's latest X-Men movie would adapt the time travel tale Days of Future Past, every actor who ever had a role in the X-Men trilogy was asked at every opportunity whether they'd be returning to the franchise...
Well, today we learn that solid X-Men thesp Kelsey Grammer has reportedly reprised his role as Beast for a cameo in X-Men: Days Of Future Past! If true, he'll play the future version of Nicholas Hoult's character.
ShowbizSpy is reporting that a source close to the production on director Bryan Singer's new flick revealed that Grammer, who played the role in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, was totally up for the cameo:
It wasn't hard to get him to sign on for a guest appearance. He jumped at the opportunity the second it was brought to his attention. Kelsey's special cameo was secretly shot during post-production on the Fox (studio) lot under the impression that Kelsey would be on set to film a pilot for a different project.
Now THAT's an internet rumor I want to believe. If you ask me, Grammer's Beast was the best thing on a very short list of good things from the rather lacklustre X-Men: The Last Stand.
If this turns out to be true, do you think that the two Beasts will meet? Will they update Grammer's make-up to fit better with Hoult's younger version, which is far more animal-like?
More importantly, could this rumor be on target and, if so, where could Grammer's Beast fit into X-Men: Days Of Future Past? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!
Don't forget - X-Men: Days Of Future Past arrives in theaters May 23, 2014.
