The meister of Marvel Comics Stan Lee, was recently quizzed by Playboy about his thoughts on this year’s sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron to the 2012 film; however it came as a surprise to some when Stan Lee confessed to being less than versed in the sentient AI:

I don’t have any idea who the hell Ultron is, He was a character developed after I stopped being involved in the Avengers story.

This kind of makes sense when you think about it, as Stan Lee was writing from the 40's to the 70's when he stopped doing the monthly comics in order to become publisher; allowing for others to take the reigns. Even though Ultron was in the background in the 60's, the character really came into his own during the 80's and 90's as computers were becoming more advanced, so it totally makes sense that Lee is not as well versed in Ultron: but does this surprise you?

Poll
