Fancy taking a trip to Camp Dread this Summer? There's a chance to win $1 million! The catch? Someone will be trying to kill you and you have to be the last survivor. Not so attractive now, is it?

Courtesy of Horror-Movies.ca, we have the official trailer for slasher flick Camp Dread and it has everything you'd expect: blood, nudity, sex, boobs, killing, screaming and a healthy dose of postmodern self-referentiality.

According to IMDB, the synopsis of the film is as follows:

The "Summer Camp" horror trilogy was one of the most popular franchises of the 1980s. However, the decade ended and so did director/writer Julian Barrett's career.

Now Barrett has a plan to resurrect "Summer Camp" in a modern reboot that entails using a reality show as its template and source of fundraising. Should it succeed Barrett would once again be at the helm. Bringing together an eclectic group of young "contestants" as well as his former stars Rachel Steele and John Hill, Barrett seems to have put together a sure fire recipe for success.

Then people start dying. For real. And "elimination" takes on a whole new meaning as "Dead.tv" clearly shows the slasher film has grown up.

If you take yourself back to 2012 and remember what The Cabin in the Woods did for horror cinema, then you'll probably recognise a bit of what's going on in Camp Dread. Eric Roberts' character Julian Barrett is reminiscent of the guys in control in The Cabin in the Woods and snippets of dialogue like "Hot people are never the killers" try to persuade us this film is smart. Maybe we'll have a 'Final Guy' at the end, what do you think?

Have a look at the trailer below, share your thoughts in the comments and ask yourself: What would you do for $1million?

Camp Dread will be released on DVD on April 15th in the USA and gets a theatrical release on May 19th in the UK.
