Anyone who likes chewing their finger nails down to the quick whilst hiding behind the sofa, rejoice! Sam Raimi is taking on a reboot of the terrifying Japanese horror, The Grudge via Ghost House Pictures.

Jeff Buhler of Midnight Meat Train fame has been hired to write the script and the producers are set to be Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise.

The Grudge received an American makeover in 2004 with Sarah Michelle Gellar taking on the lead role. Both the Japanese version and the American movie were directed by Takashi Shimizu.

Little is known about the reboot as of yet, but heres hoping it will exceed the underwhelming efforts of The Grudge 2 and The Grudge 3 from Sony!

For those out of the horror loop, The Grudge series focuses on the curse of a deceased family’s violent rage that destroys the lives of everyone who comes in contact with it.

Does this reboot tickle anyone's fancy, or are you steeling yourself for disappointment?
