Sebastian Stan, who plays The Winter Soldier in the upcoming Captain America Movie, has spoken about his inspiration in how he approached the villain for the upcoming movie - and how one bad guy in particular was always on his mind.

Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight is widely regarded as being one of the outstanding villains in movie history. And this is something that Sebastian Stan was very aware of as he took on his role as the major villain in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Stan said:

I just always admired his performance and him as an actor, I can't compare myself to anything like that. He is an inspiration. That was his most memorable performance, [the Joker]. I think we've all seen in the last decade [how excellent these performances have been]

And this is not the first time we have heard how seriously Stan has been taking this project. Asked previously whether playing a brainwashed veteran of the Second World War required much research, Stan said:

I dove into the whole Cold War thing. I looked at the KGB. I looked at all kinds of spy movies, and all kinds of documentaries about that time, and what it was about. I grabbed anything from that time period. Anything about brainwashing

So what do you think? Could The Winter Soldier ever compare to the Joker? Do you think Stan is right for the role? And how much are you looking forward to this latest Marvel movie?
