Ellen Page might be newly emerged from the closet, but she hasn't wasted any time actively rebuffing the comments of anti-gay figures.

The 27-year-old actress took to Twitter to respond to a message from a pastor who was criticising her sexuality. Although Page did not post what the pastor actually said to her, she did share her sassy response.

Well, that told him! Telling an intelligent and spirited woman like Page what she wants from her own life is a pretty patronising move, and probably not a technique that is going to recruit the pastor many new followers!

I'm glad to see Page is publicly sticking up for herself after her moving coming out speech in February this year. Page chose to out her sexuality at the The Human Rights Campaign’s Time To Thrive conference with the idea of helping others become comfortable with their sexuality in mind. The [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) actress explained;

I’m here today because I am gay… and because maybe I can make a difference. To help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility

Page's response certainly makes her a positive role model for young LGBT people. Although her sexuality has clearly been attacked and implied to be sinful and wrong by a complete stranger, Page's reply doesn't contain a trace of anger or aggression. Instead she simply asserts her own beliefs and contradicts the assumptions the pastor has made about her. All while sounding super sassy. You go girl!
