Hey guys...I've been on an X-Men binge for a while now (20 years lol) and recently I've been questioning myself on how a reboot of this franchise could possibly work.
I do know that the ending events in the movie [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) past will bring some dead mutants back (hopefully Jean and Scott too) but will they go as far as to bring a new age of mutants together...or go on route to bring the original team back for a new X-Men movie (X-Men 4)..either way I really do think that if Fox were to bring a reboot to this franchise they should bring in a new director. I know Singer gets a lot of credit bringing these mutants to life on screen, but we should get the luxury of seeing someone else's view on this tale.
Personally I am sort of sick of seeing the same mutants in every X-Men film and it would be interesting to see Fox get bold enough to bring some Uncanny X-Men feel to the table. And with that it would be nice to have Cyclops back to the forefront and put in Emma and a resurrected yet unstable Phoenix in the mix.
Plus I like the whole 'less is more' approach to this as well... as we do get an overload of mutants in the DOFP movie and it would be nice to see some favorites with some depth featured, like for instance..
Cyclopes's love triangle with Emma and Jean.
Wolverine and X-23.
Rogue and Gambit..or even Rogue and Mystique in more depth.
All in all if Fox decides to bring either the Originals or the New Age X-Men to the forefront I think they should not only put in some diversity but some personality from other mutants/new mutants as well. I know we all love Hugh Jackman but lets give some others mutants a chance to shine..namely the LEADER (Scott) of the X-men.
Let me know your thoughts on the future of this franchise..and how you'd change it if you could..
