DreamWorks Dragons has released its next species to premiere in the next film! The animation studio's newly-launched promotional information site Dragonpedia has announced that they will periodically release information on dragon species from the first film as well as new ones to debut in the upcoming [How to Train Your Dragon 2](movie:44736). Say hello to the Changewing, a dragon that is absolute master of disguise.
Their camouflaging skills are second to none, allowing them to blend in with rocks, trees, foliage and even buildings. Additionally, Changewings often change colors based on their moods and surroundings. Instead of fire, they shoot hot, corrosive acid that burns through wood and rocks. They are also extremely agile and fast, even when moving along the ground. Changewings have a social structure similar to a lion pride. The female Changewings do most of the hunting and defense.
This image is sure to be a scene where to unsuspecting enemy vikings are utterly surprised as a Changewing seemingly appears out of nowhere as it undoes its camouflage ability.
Changewing eggs are so smooth and iridescent that Vikings used to mistake them for jewels or glowing "gems of power!"
Also, if you look carefully, you can see one of the twins at the Changewing's foot. Is this the twin's new dragon? And if so, why aren't the twins sharing the twin-headed dragon Belch & Barf anymore? Did the dragon die? Are the twins fighting? Or worse: did something happen to one of the twins?
