We've waited an excruciating nine months since the last, torturous episode. And now, on April 6, Game of Thrones Season 4 is finally arriving!

After all the carnage and misery of the Season 3's Red Wedding, it may seem that Game of Thrones can never top itself again. Season 1 ended with Daenerys giving birth to her dragons. Season 2 ended with an army of White Walkers. How will Season 4 of the George R. R. Martin adaptation ever match up?

Well, star of the show Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the HBO show, seems to think that a LOT more nakedness is on the cards.

The thesp revealed that fans and actors of the show alike have noted the disparity between the high amounts of female nudity compared to a significantly lower amount of male nudity. And Harington, for one, would like to see that change. He said:

It's only right. If you’re going to make a show where nudity and sex is a large part of it, that you be a part of that.

Despite that, Harington continued by saying that he wouldn't exactly be jumping at the opportunity to get naked:

I wouldn't say I'd be happy about it... It would have to be f***ing well deserved.

In fact, so far Harington has dodged even the little nakedness that has been asked of him by the show's producers. In Season 3, after Jon Snow has been lured into a cave and seduced by the wildling Ygritte, Harington is seen naked from behind jumping into a rock pool. Turns out, however, that that was a body double.

Harington also hinted that fans can expect a bleak fourth season of Game of Thrones, saying that the show is "getting worse" (if that's possible!) and wondering "how people can deal with something going dark and dark and darker. Being unrelenting in how pessimistic things are. They really push it."

So as well as a whole lot more nudity, there'll also be a lot more torture-porn, too. Great.

It's a strange blend of morbid fascination and uncontainable excitement for me as I await Season 4. What about you? Which of your favorite characters do you think will get naked before getting the chop? Let me know your theories in the comment section below!

Don't forget - Game of Thrones Season 4 returns to HBO on April 6.
