With the release if the first [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles](movie:323027) trailer, the majority of the world was absolutely thrilled at the dark thriller action style preview to one of the most well-known comic book and animated show team in history. Social media is absolutely shredding it apart! However, we guarantee you that you missed some pretty important sneak peeks into the movie. No worries though, we've got you covered! Prepare to re-immerse yourself in all of your childhood imagination!

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.

The plot summary recently released alongside the trailer confirms that these shady figures are supervillain Shredder's famous Foot Clan. The movie has taken a terroristic approach towards the terrible team, which is a much more believable take than some of the petty cat burglar interpretations.

Opening scene: it's easy to miss with the distraction of the voice-over from Shredder himself, but something on top of one of the buildings is burning. Is this fire some sort of signal, or a public demonstration from Shredder, or is the Foot Clan just burning things for the heck of it?

We learn that Shredder and April O'Neil's father were the developers of the mutating syrum that turns the average, everyday turtles into the heroes they have become. An unsuited Shredder even says he was trying to make heroes. So why does he become their worst enemy? Hopefully they won't try and pull a Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader scene with a "Turtles, I am your creator!"

We spot a green test tube with the logo for TCRI, or the Techno Cosmic Research Industries. In certain adaptations, TCRI is the company that developed the green ooze that lead to the mutation of the turtles. Does this mean Shredder and Mr. O'Neil worked for TCRI?

In different tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, April O'Neil is a lab assistant or a news reporter. We see her constantly taking pictures, including a take on the "flash horror" scenes which have become popular in horror films where we can only see into the dark when the camera flashes. However, her father's connection to TCRI suggests lab assistant isn't out of the question yet.

Master Splinter, however, doesn't make an appearance on this trailer. Is his role going to be more minimal than we thought?

I have to give props to the studio, however. Taking on such a classic cast of characters and highly-beloved series is a huge risk, especially with the huge reliance upon CGI. Despite the huge chance they've taken with the movie, it looks pretty decent, and my hopes for the film are higher than ever!
