William Herschel was the first astronomer to note that by the time many stars' light reaches us, they are already dead. And now, we lucky things get to see the legendary Herschel come to life as Sir Patrick Stewart steps into his shoes!

Yep, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is to air an episode titled "A Sky Full of Ghosts", in which the Star Trek and X-Men star will play the astronomer famous for discovering Uranus (drop your best jokes in the comment section below, but I can verify that I've heard them all before!).

To be technical, Stewart‘s voice - not him - will appear on this Sunday's episode of Cosmos. But the space ghosts thing (basically, how time and gravity affect light) is totally legit! Check this out:
