Tainted meat. Anybody who's read the comics should know only too well what these two seemingly innocent words mean.
It's part of one of the most infamous storylines in [The Walking Dead](series:201193) comic book and I think we're about to see some version of it in the upcoming season finale.
Spoilers abound from here on in. Stop reading if you don't want to know more, or have a delicate constitution.
From the moment Glenn, Maggie and the rest of the group arrived at Terminus it was clear something was not right. There were no guards on watch, the gates were unlocked and Scary Mary (for she truly is terrifying) offered to "make them plate", as if she'd been expecting them all along.
Theories abound as to the true nature of Terminus and all of them involve bad things happening to lots of people.
For what it's worth I think Terminus is the home of the Hunters and they have an extra special treat for those who want to get in on the barbecue action: an extra side portion of Beth.
There's been a ton of foreshadowing in the previous episodes about the brutality to come and we haven't seen the blond songstress since she was abducted from the funeral parlor. My guess is that parts of her are now medium rare and ready to serve.
My prediction is that as Maggie is about to chomp down on some succulent sirloin they hear a groan coming from behind a closed door. Intrigued, they cautiously open it and take a look inside. There - like a nightmarish vision - they see Beth, crawling towards them covered in blood and with both legs amputated, begging her sister to put a bullet in her to end the pain.
The group's appetite for steak suddenly disappears.
I'm not sure if the episode will play out exactly like this, but considering the finale will almost certainly include some version of 'The Marauders' storyline, I think it's safe to assume this could be the most controversial episode in Walking Dead history.
Whatever happens, we should experience it together during the final live blog of the season. Get involved at thewalkingdead.moviepilot.com.
