Arrowstorm Entertainment has just completed five months of production on a new fantasy series titled “Mythica”. The announcement comes as Arrowstorm prepares a wide promotional push for the series, including upcoming appearances at conventions and events nationwide, starting with FanX Comicon in Salt Lake City (April 17-19th).
Currently slated as a five film series, but with plans for TV adaptation, the first movie is scheduled for release Fall 2014, and is presently titled “Mythica: A Quest for Heroes.” The films follow Marek, a runaway slave with a gift for magic, who teams up with an unlikely group of adventurers as she struggles to control her necromantic abilities. The team is soon enmeshed in a war against an ancient necromancer who is bent on reuniting a shattered artifact and rise to power as the next Lich King.
Starring Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda) as Marek’s mentor, and Matthew Mercer (World of Warcraft, Thunder Cats, Resident Evil, Attack on Titan) as Szorlok, fans of fantasy worlds such as Middle Earth and Azeroth are targeted as Arrowstorm draws inspiration from computer and tabletop adventure games such as Dungeons and Dragons and World of Warcraft.
“Arrowstorm Entertainment is a loyal creator of sci-fi and fantasy films,” says Arrowstorm Executive Jason Faller. “We create or adapt stories that aren’t mass market enough for the big studios. We’re fans ourselves; we make the films that we have always wished for, films we would love to watch… and as it turns out, there are more of us out there than you’d think.”
