Elijah Wood can't seem to keep his fingers out of the horror world, and that's a GOOD thing! Spanish thriller, [Open Windows](movie:881620) has been acquired for U.S release in the late summer or early fall of 2014 after it's recent showing at SXSW.
The premise for Open Windows is stunningly relevant: The most exciting actress of the moment, refuses to have dinner with Nick (Wood), a fan who won a date with her in an Internet contest organized by the distributor of her latest film. The game turns sour when a spurned Nick finds a way to stalk his lost prize from the safety of his laptop. But Nick soon finds out that this newfound access isn't all about him after all.
With the increasingly "touchable" nature of online interaction, Open Windows is sounding like somewhat of a cautionary tale for overexcited studio promotion wizards and the accessible nature of the modern celebrity.
Voyeurism, suspense and Elijah Wood's creepy stare? Yes please!
