According to MovieFone, Batman VS Superman is in need of a total of 6,000 extras on April 27th in Troy, Michigan which is about 25 miles from Detroit. The description given for the needed extras are simple, but clear:

Men and women at least 18-years-old who are clean-cut military and law enforcement types or business executives in suits.

Also, Les Miserables actor Russell Crowe was recently interviewed in promotion of his new movie [Noah](movie:204057), and revealed he believes he will not be returning as Superman's father Jor-El in the Man of Steel sequel.

I don’t think they’re going to use me again. I think they’re jumping onto a different stream. You know, with different superhero worlds colliding.

Sounds like Crowe would be open to take up the role again if he was offered, but since the sequel isn't an origin story for Superman anymore, there's little to no need to establish Superman's history as much as to move forward with his life.

He also points out how the focus will be the two iconic DC superheroes clashing, as well as the inclusion of some other big-name superheroes that also have to be completely reintroduced in the film include Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot's [Wonder Woman](movie:45787), Ben Affleck's titular Batman, and other speculated roles including Dwayne Johnson's mystery character.

With the popular question of whether Batman vs. Superman is being too roster-heavy to be successful, this might just be a big step in the right direction to focusing in on what [Man of Steel](movie:15593) 2 needs to do to be the success we're all hoping for.

[Batman vs. Superman](movie:711870) is set to hit theaters on May 6th, 2016.

What do you think about Jor-El not returning?
