We've known for some time now that Chris Evans has no plans to continue acting for a while after his stint with Marvel as Captain America, but that doesn't mean this is the last we'll hear from him.
In a recent interview with Reuters, the "Winter Soldier" star discussed what he intends to do once his break from acting begins.
I'd like to direct. I just enjoyed it. You know when you are a kid and you get a hobby? You find something you like, and you wake up on a free day, and it's the first thing you think about? You just wake up and you run to do it. Directing was that thing I felt. I love acting and I'll still act. But I think when I have a little more free time from the Marvel universe, I will probably try and pursue that first.
Evans was also asked if he could ever see himself playing the "bad guy" in a movie one day.
I would love to. I hope I get that opportunity. Maybe I can direct something where I get to play the villain. Why not?
Evans' next movie, 1:30 Train, was one he directed and is starring in. Perhaps we'll see then whether or not his love of directing is already being founded.
[Captain America: The Winter Soldier](movie:254973) releases nationwide on April 4th.
