Of course, which Quicksilver am I talking about? That would be the one played by Evan Peters in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. We've seen some basic stills of Peters' version of the speedster, but the latest one has many fans, or at least just me, throwing things at our Internet.

This photo was revealed in the French edition of Premiere Magazine and featured some other character stills. But for now, let's take a look at...

"I remembered to wrap if you know what I mean."
"I remembered to wrap if you know what I mean."

It's not that I dislike Pink Floyd, and I'm trying to keep in mind that this is the 70s, and looking good wasn't a big deal back then (according to 90s television, at least). I'm just not sure this version of the character is as intimidating as he's supposed to be. Unless you're scared of kinky glares.

Contrast with the version of Quicksilver played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Now everything about this concept art screams "watch this guy be awesome." And if we learned one thing about Taylor-Johnson already from the Kickass movies, it's that even the scrawniest movie heroes (or villains in this case) can and should kick some serious ass. Leave the tape at home.

Yes, I'm still excited about Days of Future Past, and I fully expect Peters to do a solid job with the character. Just...can we at least lose the weird utility belt?

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
