So, The Expendables 3 is only months away and it is already being teased who is staring alongside the returning cast. To be honest, I never saw the fascination with the first one but I really enjoyed the second, so I am looking forward to the third.

However, there have been many rumors since the first one, all over the internet that there should be or could be an all female Expendables movie. Fan posters have been made and there have been list upon list about who should star.

Personally I think this is such an amazing idea! I have always found female action starts to be more bad-ass than the males. They just look cooler fighting and more bad-ass. So yeah, all female Expendables would be awesome to see!

Now for the cast list. There are lots of strong women in film today but like The Expendables, it needs to have a variety between classic action stars and new comers. With that in mind, here is a list of 5 female action stars and why they would be awesome in it, plus some shout outs to supporting action stars.

  • 1. Sigourney Weaver - Alien Franchise

Definitely a must have. To me, she is the ultimate action hero. Not just female but of both men and women. Alien and Aliens are two of my favorite sci-fi and action films and that is mostly because of such a bold and courageous character Weaver played. She is a tough, smart and totally awesome actress and I could see her playing the head of the organisation the women belong too.

  • 2. Linda Hamilton - Terminator 1 + 2

Unfortunately, I haven't actually seen her in anything else but Terminator. But her role was so well done and she played her so well that she always comes to my mind when I hear the term 'Female Action Star'. Sarah Connor took out Arnold Schwarzenegger for crying out loud, how awesome can you be? Despite her playing such an iconic hero, I actually want her to play a villain role. It would be the ultimate battle of the franchises between Alien and Terminator and I think she has the look of an evil character about her.

  • 3. Uma Therman - Kill Bill Vol 1 + 2

Vengeance was never so deserved. Uma Therman kicked so much ass as The Bride and she should be able to continue kicking ass. Uma Therman would play such a good hero or villain. In either role, she is a definite must have for a female Expendables.

  • 4. Michelle Yeoh - Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Tomorrow Never Dies

My favourite female martial artist. Michelle Yeoh defied gravity in CTHD, was the only redeemable factor of The Mummy 3 and made a very different Bond Girl in TND. No female action team is complete without a martial artist and who better than Yeoh?

  • 5. Michelle Rodriquez - Fast and Furious 1,2,4 + 6, Resident Evil 1+5 and Machete

It must be something about 'Michelle' but they do kick ass and do it well. Michelle Rodriquez is a tough, feisty but brutal actress who could play the risky hero type and play it well. Her role as a military agent in Resident Evil built her up well and established her as an action hero, her F+F role re-enforced her risky and tough persona. But its Machete that shows her as a total bad ass.

  • Sarach Michelle Gellar - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
