Zombie buff George A. Romero is back! Okay so it may not be entirely true but at least his idea is back. That's right, Romero's zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead is being resurrected once more. Director Zebediah De Soto is trying his hand at the horror genre and he has decided to start with a remake. The movie-dubbed Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D- has a decent cast. Legend Tony Todd (Candyman) is back for more zombie action as well as Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down), and a few less popular actors.

The synopsis for the movie- according to the movie's IMDB page:

A group of survivors trapped in a New York apartment fight to stay alive against legions of zombies.

For a fairly unknown director such as De Soto, a move like this could either make or break his career. Looking back at previous Night of the Living Dead adaptions, Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006), and Night of the Living Dead 3D: Re-Animation (2012), none has followed the popularity of Romero's 1968 original. I guess that is what happens when you lose copyrights to your own movie- really bad remakes spring up. Perhaps De Soto should rethink this movie-especially the 3D feature, but I am ready to let this one run its course. Obviously nothing beats the original, but perhaps De Soto will deliver something fairly close.
