Many were delighted to hear that Sam Mendes and John Logan, Skyfall's director-writer team, would be returning for James Bonds 24th outing next year but little has been heard since on who might be showing up beside, or should we say against, Daniel Craig's 007. That is, until now.

News has now surfaced that casting has indeed begun with producers MGM reportedly sending some alluring glances towards Oscar nominee and 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor, looking to cast the Brit in a villainous role. As The Wrap reports:

Fresh off an Oscar nomination for “12 Years a Slave,” Chiwetel Ejiofor is the frontrunner to play the villain opposite Daniel Craig in the next James Bond movie, multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

Sony, MGM and Ejiofor's reps at CAA have all declined to comment but it certainly would make for a tasty piece of casting if it does indeed come to pass. Ejiofor can stretch the vocal chords and would surely prove a mighty presence in the role but could the actor's nationality be telling? Will the adversary of Bond 24 come from within? Time will indeed tell.

How do y'all feel about this one? Who would you rather see? Let us know below.

James Bond will return on November 6th 2015
