American actor and comedian John Pinette has been found dead in a hotel room in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania according to the BBC.
The 50 year old comic was a veteran of the American stand-up comedy circuit, although he's most likely to be known by mainstream audiences for his appearance in the final episode of Seinfeld.
A spokesperson for the medical examiner's office explained Pinette had been suffering from liver and heart disease, while his manager told The Hollywood Reporter that he had suffered a pulmonary embolism. He was found in his suite at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel on Saturday, April 5.
Pinette, who was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1964, was an award-winning comic who initially received his big break when he was asked to appear with Frank Sinatra on tour.
He was particularly known for making self-depreciating jokes about his weight, and his agent, Nick Nuciforo, stated he was working on a new stand-up project when he died. He was recently just started a tour which was expecting to take him across the US and Canada. Nuciforo stated:
He should be celebrated for the amazing comedian he was.
