Roman Polanski's Venus in Furs will celebrate its American premier at the Tribeca film festival later this month and the distributors have just dropped a new English subbed trailer. The plot concerns a writer-director, played by the always enjoyable Mathieu Amalric, who is attempting to bring Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's novella to the stage. On the night of casting, a dishevelled Emmanuelle Seigner shows up to read for the lead role. Take a look below:

Despite some rather ludicrous sounding narration the thing still feels like a sort of sultry, sexy, chamber piece. A storm rages on outside the theater but Mr. Polanksi seems to be hinting that one rages underneath the titular furs too.

It's been almost a year since the film premiered at Cannes but it has been picking up some decent reviews since then so we'll be looking out for this one whenever Sundance do decide to release.

Will you? Let us know below.
