Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution for WB, said the following about the recent May 6th release date and the play of chicken between Marvel and DC:

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16. However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for ‘Batman vs. Superman.’”

After the huge box office that Capt 2 had this weekend and the quality of the movie, I really (even more than before) think that [Batman vs. Superman](movie:711870) should change the date. WB has a lot more to lose here than Marvel, who at this moment can afford a loss and has the credibility and the momentum that won't be as affected. WB is trying to launch their universe and sharing spotlight with another massive comic book movie will harm those legs for the future. Now the question is, if neither backs down (someone will, my bets are that Marvel will not even flinch and WB will change) what movie do you go see on the biggest box office opening in history for nerds?
