The Raid 2 is the latest title to jump on the 'Let's make everything 8-bit' bandwagon. Gareth Evans' highly anticipated action-martial-arts sequel has just released a free, online 8-bit arcade game.

The game lets you play as characters from [The Raid 2: Berendal](movie:573588), including Rama, Hammer Girl, Baseball Bat Man and Prakoso, as you work your way through retro side-scrolling goon-smashing video game action. Well, to be honest, I think the game was knocked together on a Friday afternoon, since it's not really that great, especially compared to the classic titles it tries to emulate. Still, it might be fun to play if you're bored at work and your computer screen faces away from your boss' desk.

There is also some added incentive to play. Apparently, the top scorer in the game will earn themselves an Xbox One. So, if you really want to grab one of those, waste no more time and click on this link to play the game. By the way, at the moment, the game only works on the Google Chrome browser.

You can watch the actual, fully HD version of The Raid 2 in theaters from April 11th.

What do you think? What was your favorite game from the 8/16-bit era? Personally, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts always kicked ass in my opinion. Let me know below.
