FXX reportedly shelled out an eye watering 550 million last year for the rights to air The Simpsons. Now, to flaunt their new purchase, the station will be airing all 552 episodes consecutively over the course of 12 days. The marathon will commence on August 21st, as the Associated Press reports:

The network said Wednesday the marathon will start Aug. 21 and continue into Labor Day. FXX programming chief Chuck Saftler said it coincides with the network's purchase of rerun rights and the development of an app that gives access to every episode of the long-running animated series.

At 25 years old the program is showing no signs of its age with a plan to kill off one major character next season, some neat guest cameo couch gags, a Lego special and a Judd Apatow penned story all on the cards.

We'll be tuning in some time around August 22nd but might switch off four or five days later. Will you? Let us know.
