The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, has finally spoken about the zombie spin-off TV series heading to AMC in 2015, admitting the show will be totally unrelated to the comic book source material:

For the TV spinoff, I’m coming up with that stuff. It’s unrelated to the comics. What’s happening in issue 127 is in no way connected to the spin-off TV show.

Issue 127 is yet to be released but is already creating lots of chatter among TWD fans. This is because the cover depicts a mysterious, unknown woman, leading to speculation the comic series could be set for a new beginning, focusing on a different bunch of survivors.

Kirkman remains typically tight lipped about the whole thing, saying:

No comment. Read 127

I gotta say, I'm happy the spin-off is going to focus on a completely different set of characters in a different location. I love the comic book and show, but it'll be nice to get out of Georgia and see the zombie apocalypse from a different perspective.

What say you? Happy [The Walking Dead](series:201193) spin-off will be completely separate from the comic books and show? Also, what would you like to see happen on the show? I'd love to hear your opinion on this.

Where should TWD spin-off take place?
