It seems like the possibility of more solo "X-Men" films happening is increasing a bit. It has already been done with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, but will Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique get a chance at the spotlight?

According to X-Men: Days of Future Past screenwriter Simon Kinberg, maybe that idea will become reality:

I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there's so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo.

How exciting would it be if J. Law actually received this great opportunity! Personally, I also liked what I saw from her as Mystique in X-Men: First Class. Getting a chance to play Mystique in a film dedicated just for her would give Lawrence more screen time in order to develop the character even further, and prove to us all that she can really portray a believable and relatable Mystique.

As for the general idea of creating more solo "X-Men" films, producer Lauren Shuler Donner (who has produced all of the "X-Men" films) had this to say in an interview with EW:

There was a regime [at the studio] that didn't see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we're going to do right by it. I'd like to do Gambit. I'd like to do Deadpool. We'll see. There's a lot of really great characters.

So, Mystique is not the only character that may be featured in a solo film. It is certainly not the only one being mentioned by those at Fox, and those affiliated with the "X-Men" franchise. As a result, the possibilities may be countless. We will have to wait and see what actually transpires, but this certainly gives fans much to talk about (and/or speculate about). Specifically, it gives them an opportunity to share their preferences, in the hopes that those with the authority and capital to make solo "X-Men" movies are listening closely.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will hit theaters May 23rd, so we will get to see more of J. Law's Mystique, as well as all the other mutants, past and present.

What say you all? Would you like to see a Mystique spin-off happen? If not, then would you like to see any other character in a spin-off film? Or, is this idea of creating solo "X-Men" films just plain stupid? Write away in the comments section below!
