A lean, mean, comics reading, movie watching, useless knowledge knowing machine.

I woke up this morning, brought my dog out, poured some food for my cat, and came on Movie Pilot to see what the latest happenings were. While I was eating my 3rd bowl of cereal, I noticed that I had a response to a comment I left on one of the articles posted the other day. It really wasn't that bad until the end where I was labeled a "blind DC freak" by this person for giving my opinion on why I thought the Man of Steel Sequel would beat Captain America 3 in terms of revenue. I consider myself a reasonable person and I like to look at many situations and scenarios from multiple angles. That is the point of me writing this. Maybe nobody will read this. Maybe 1,000 people will read this. Either way, I need to vent my frustrations, knowing damn right that it will not make a difference besides making me feel better. Like the Godfather, Don Vito Corleone, I'm trying to appeal to reason.

I prefer DC. I do. I can't help the way I feel, but Batman is my favorite character and let's be honest... he is awesome. Every Batman title is on my pull list. I also enjoy reading Green Lantern. To round out my pull list, I grab [Justice League](movie:401267), Injustice: Gods Among Us, [Daredevil](movie:47230), and Captain America.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... back up. Did you happen to see what's going on there? I read DC titles and Marvel titles. Obviously, not everyone knows that unless I tell them, but I'm just trying to convey to everyone that I enjoy both DC and Marvel and never disrespect a Marvel fans opinion... because I like Marvel too.

What is the big deal? Why is my life threatened whenever a Marvel fan disagrees with me? They also threaten my mother a lot and tell me to do physically impossible things. This goes for DC fans as well. I've seen this the other way around too.

I'm 28 years old and have been reading comics since I was 4. I grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series, Spiderman, and X-men. I have never been as excited as I am now to be a fan of these characters since I became a fan. The monthly comic issues for both companies are killing it. The collaboration between writers and artists has never been better and we get to see them in live-action movies. Meanwhile, all we can do is bitch and moan about everything, compare DC and Marvel, threaten each other, and disrespect everyone who doesn't agree with us or like our opinion.

I responded to someone over a comment they made a while back about Gal Gadot being too skinny, a crappy actress, etc. I recommended to the person that they relax and take a look at past casting choices that were, at first, questionable. I did this in a very "walking on egg shells" type of way. They flipped on me and told me I sucked and had no idea what I was talking about. My point is, can't we agree to disagree? Why can't we disagree with someone in a more reasonable, healthy debate kind of way?

Which is going to make more money? [Batman vs. Superman](movie:711870) or [Captain America 3](movie:994409)? Personally, I really don't care because I am going to see both. Who has better heroes? DC or Marvel? All of them kick ass. What about villains? They are all evil, sadistic, and diabolical. Although, the Joker is in a class of his own. Better movies? The Dark Knight Trilogy was awesome and [Man of Steel](movie:15593) was pretty good, but Marvel owns the cinemas right now. Talk to me again in 10 years. Gal Gadot? She has potential. Man of Steel or Iron Man 3? Man of Steel was pretty good but [Iron Man 3](movie:24391) is the most overrated Marvel movie to date, IMO. Making a lot of money does not mean it is a good movie. Video Games? Sorry Marvel, but you do not even come close on this one. That is fact, not opinion. The Arkham Series is one of the best video game series ever.

They can get along. So can we.
They can get along. So can we.

There is no telling what will happen in the next few years, but as fans, we should be excited. There is nothing better than when two companies are competing to sell their product to the public. There are no losers and the fans win every time. Instead of worrying about which is better, think about this: Batman and Superman are going to be in a movie together for the first time with Wonder Woman. Marvel is putting out an awesome movie or two every year and so will DC soon. The Rock is about to sign on with DC. Lobo Maybe? Dr. Strange and Black Panther are getting in on the action soon too, and Marvel is planning something big with Netflix. Daredevil is back in Marvels hands. Not to mention Arrow, which is a great show too. Take my money. Try to enjoy it, because who knows how long it is going to last.

Do you prefer DC? What about Marvel? Do you like your DC sprinkled with a little Marvel? How about having your Marvel with a slice of DC?
