By the power of Greyskull, it's really happening! Earlier today TheWrap broke the news that [Kick-Ass 2](movie:39248) writer/director Jeff Wadlow has closed a deal to rewrite Masters of the Universe for Sony Pictures and Escape Artists. Wadlow is also a front-runner to direct the film for Sony Pictures. Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) was previously attached to direct.

Can the guy that gave us this, do He-Man justice?

My Take:

While I'm as excited as the next fan for a proper return to Eternia, I can't say Sony's choice of Wadlow instills confidence in me. Wadlow both directed and adapted the critically panned Kick Ass 2, a film which in my humble opinion failed to live up to its predecessor on just about every front.

While I am still looking forward to his work on both Masters of the Universe and X-Force, I do have some concerns and can't help but wonder what a Jon M. Chu directed He-Man could've given us. Either way, here's hoping it turns out... nice.

That being said, this is just my opinion; so, let me know what you guys think!
