Linda Hamilton, who famously played Sarah Connor in Terminator 1 and 2, will make a return to Sci-Fi in Defiance Season 2.

Terminator 2, in particular, saw a tough, uncompromising Sarah Connor who had learnt from her experiences. And it seems the Defiance will afford Hamilton an equally ambiguous role.

Hamilton will play Pilar McCawley, the wife of Rafe McCawley (Graham Greene) and mother to their three children. She has been away from her family for a number of years after succumbing to mental illness during the Votan arrival and the war that followed.

During that period, unable to access medication to ease her fragile mental state, Pilar snapped and attempted to murder her children.

Season 2 will show Pilar's return from the institution she was sent to. She seems a changed woman, full of love for her family and a calm attitude. But questions remain, and it is not long before her husband Rafe and other town members begin to wonder exactly what she has been doing these past turbulent years.

So what do you think? Is Linda Hamilton right for this role? She has done it before, after all. And what do you think happened to Pilar? Can she be trusted, or is there something more to her story than she is letting on? Write in with your thoughts below the line.
