At the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we saw S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Maria Hill applying for a job at STARK Industries since (spoilers) S.H.I.E.L.D. has all but dissolved into nonexistence. Today, released information on the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode starring Cobie Smulders' character that gives us an update on her situation.

Now, with S.H.I.E.L.D. gone Maria Hill has found herself working for Tony Stark…but she’ll soon have an encounter with her former colleague, Phil Coulson.

Though this is interesting news for [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](series:722469), this also is a VERY important revelation for the Marvel Universe! With Maria Hill at Stark Industries, we could see her team up with Iron Man in a potential Iron Man 4 or even lead to some of the comics in which Maria was a subordinate to Tony Stark's authority. Which storylines have her portrayed like this?

During the civil war, Maria Hill tells Tony that he deserves to lead S.H.I.E.L.D. more than she does, in which Tony is appointed leader after the war. Her wikipedia page also explains more about her position under Stark:

Maria Hill becomes a core member of Stark's S.H.I.E.L.D. cabinet and assists Stark in dealing with a sudden rise in various terrorist groups who have gained access to hyper-advanced biological weapons. Unlike the rest of the cabinet (including Sal Kennedy, whom she loathed personally), Hill remains skeptical of a single conspiracy behind all these attacks. When the Mandarin's neoplastic tumor began infecting the Helicarrier, Hill organizes the evacuation; she (wrongly) believed the infection is the main objective of the attack.

Biological weapons? Does this mean genetic or artificial life? With the Mandarin being directly named as being a terroristic villain using biological weapons, scary thoughts start to fit together.

Though the Ten Rings, his own personal terrorist organization seen in the very first Iron Man film, have operated out of the Middle East, their leader The Mandarin is actually Chinese, which could conveniently be relocated to South Korea. The picture above is a picture of the logo on the side of the truck Captain America was on for the filming of [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035).

Genetics definitely connect to the Vision and Ultron, as they are the only artificial life forms that will appear in the movie, as well as the Vision being biological and artificial life. However, with the revival of the Mandarin character in All Hail the King, there is a good chance that the Mandarin could actually be the mastermind behind creating Ultron. After all, the promo video we have for the movie has Iron Man's suit changing into Ultron, and who better to turn Stark's suit into a villain than Stark's biggest villain himself!
