John Green's insanely successful YA novel, The Fault In Our Stars, is finally getting its big screen moment, and Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort share a few intimate moments in the latest clip, titled "It's A Metaphor."
The first clip from the movie premiered Sunday afternoon during the 2014 MTV Movie Awards pre-show. Take a look and see what you think:
Wow, that hit me right in the feelings. I am so prepared to cry my eyes out when I see this movie. What about you kids?
The Fault In Our Stars centers on Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), two teenagers who survived cancer, who meet in a support group and fall in love. Both have a lot in common: they are kind of precocious, for instance, and both share a fascination with An Imperial Affliction, a novel dealing with cancer. It makes only sense that Augustus decides to take Hazel on a trip to Amsterdam, where the author of the novel lives. The objective of said voyage: to get answers to the big questions!
In The Fault In Our Stars, Woodley and Elgort play Hazel and Gus, the movie's two protagonists. They also had big roles in the adaptation of Veronica Roth's Divergent last month, so they've already got the working together part down. What's more, Shailene perfectly embodies Hazel Grace. Hazel is so undeniably sweet, nervous yet incredibly steadfast in her beliefs. The same can be said for Ansel, who effortlessly personifies Augustus Waters' super pretentious yet lovable personality. Bring on the chills!
The Fault In Our Stars arrives in theaters on June 6, 2014.
