Does The Walking Dead have an issue with race and, more specifically, killing off more minority characters than white ones?

This was the question Robert Kirkman responded to in the letter column of The Walking Dead #125, saying:

I’ve killed significantly more white characters than any other race. I hear you, though. It’s important to me that this book represents a realistic cross-section of people. I’m always trying to work in more minority characters.

Criticism had been leveled at the show for a perceived lack of diversity in the past, but I think Season 4 has gone some way to address these concerns.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the issue. Does The Walking Dead have a problem with race representation? Let's start a debate in the comments below.
