Lately, it seems like Chris Pratt has been sort of taking over Hollywood with leading roles in big films like [The LEGO Movie](movie:376368), the upcoming [Jurassic World](movie:32752) and of course, Guardians of the Galaxy.
In the latter, Pratt plays Star-Lord, a roguish outlaw turned crew leader with dual pistols and a helmet that is way too cool to be allowed on the big screen. Simply put, Guardians is Marvel's next attempt at introducing a new host of unforgettable heroes that may even rival Iron Man (we can dream), and Pratt is their frontrunner, for now.
And it seems like he's completely fine with it. Here's what Pratt had to say about his character and the upcoming film during an interview with MTV:
I hope people really like it, and I hope I get to play that character for a very long time. I think Marvel’s been very smart about projecting into the future and what they’re putting on their slate. It’s based on what people like, so we’ll put this movie out there and see how people react to it. Who knows?
He also revealed some great news. Shooting for is officially complete for [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073), which means we're just an editor's table away from seeing the final product!
They’re cutting it together and loving everything that they see. They’re being very careful about what they release and very smart about getting people excited without giving away what the movie’s about and not giving away the best jokes or story. I think people are very fired up to see it, and don’t know what to expect.
The more I see and hear about Guardians of the Galaxy, the more excited I am. What about you?
Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters August 1.
