The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, admitted a while back he's 99% certain that Negan - the big bad from the comics - is coming to the show at some point, and now the zombie overlord has revealed who he wants for the role - although his choice might surprise you.

Speaking to MTV News, Kirkman said:

I think Jon Hamm would be perfect. I think after "Mad Men" has run, Jon Hamm is going to have a Tom Hanks level film career, so I don't think he'll be coming back to television anytime soon. Although that would be cool!

Before we go getting too excited/annoyed by this revelation, it's worth noting the question asked to Kirkman was, "Any chance you could snag Jon Hamm for the part?", so it was clearly framed to illicit a Hamm-centric response.

Still, isn't it at least worth thinking about the possibility?

[Mad Men](series:200778) is done after this current season - although it is being split into two - so Hamm could, in theory, jump from one AMC drama to another. He's also an astonishingly talented actor who I think could nail the part of the sadistic-yet-charismatic leader of The Saviors.

But that's just my opinion. What say you Walking Dead-heads? Would Hamm be a good choice for the role? If not, who would you like to see cast as Negan? Hit me up below the line.

Would Hamm be a good choice for Negan?
