While Knocked Up certainly was a charming comedy, it was also something of a wish fulfillment fantasy. A boorish stoner à la Seth Rogen probably wouldn’t end up with a Katherine Heiglish career woman in a functioning relationship – and a child.

Obvious Child has been hailed as the more realistic counterpart of Judd Apatow's comedy.

The Brooklyn-set indie debuted to great reviews at the Sundance Film Festival and tells the story of aspiring comedian Donna Stern (played by SNL alumn Jenny Slate) who suddenly finds herself pregnant, jobless and without a boyfriend. The obvious question: Should she have an abortion?
