With the release of Captain America 2: The Winter Solider, and with the last two episodes of Marvel's [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.](series:722469) (Turn, Turn, Turn, and Providence) tying in with one another, this truly was and is a game changer as many have said already. What we are seeing, what I believe is the next "big franchise" not as a movie, but as a franchise itself. When Marvel Studios announced the three different phases, other studios wanted to replicate the same success Marvel had with Phase 1 leading up to the Avengers with Columbia Pictures planning to have a [The Fantastic Four](movie:34667) and X Men tie in some point in the future, and Sony pictures possibly making a [Sinister Six](movie:1274281) and single standalone villain movie(s) that mend together, I mean who wouldn't want to try to replicate Marvel's success, look at the box office that Iron Man 3 (the start of Phase 2) and the Avengers (end of Phase 1) made, they both broke the $1 billion mark in the box office worldwide, but what about DC on the other hand?

With the announcement of Batman vs Superman last year at San Diego Comic Con, and their current production of Gotham and replacing Christopher Nolan's Batman series (which [The Dark Knight Rises](movie:39011) did break the $1 billion mark) with a new cast, you would hope, that the Gotham TV series will tie in with the upcoming movie and the film will be better or at least the same quality of Nolan's Batman movies as well for, replacing Nolan's interpretation of the Batman series, DC have to reestablish Batman's base and has to invest more money into Gotham to hopefully tell the story of Gotham City and the tale of young Bruce Wayne, years prior to Batman vs Superman and showcase Batman's villains along the way but will follow the story of Commissioner Gordon or in this case Detective Gordon instead. Which they wouldn't have to if they used Nolan's Batman series and with that DC already set themselves behind Marvel. But what about Arrow?

Arrow in it's first season was undoubtedly not the best it could've been but, with the current season it's on, the show has found its stride and has gotten better. At this point in time DC investing money on [Gotham](series:1127075) to lead up to [Batman vs. Superman](movie:711870) (for [Man of Steel](movie:15593) already tells the story of Superman and created its base), it would be ridiculous not to use [Arrow](series:720988) for the established base it already has, not to mention the number of villains that aren't just restricted as "Green Arrow's villains" used such as, Deathstroke the the main antagonist of Season 2, and Solomon Grundy. While, the [Justice League](movie:401267) movie is currently in pre-production if they plan to use Green Arrow and The Flash for they're line up they must use Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin even if the fans will highly disagree with them portraying their specific characters. (For I kinda am one of them)

But what can DC do at this point, as mentioned before in this article with how Marvel mended their TV series, Agents of Shield and The Winter Solider together (not to mention the previous Lady Sif episode that has presented up as well to represent the Asgardian universe) shows that everything Marvel Studios does on the big screen, or on TV will be in the same universe and everything in them will tie together which basically market for one another as well, and now, Agents of Shield is now leading up to the second Avengers movie, Age of Ultron. Marvel essentially put DC in check in a game of Chess happening between the two while DC tries to attack Marvel's other front with setting the same date of Superman vs Batman with the [Captain America 3](movie:994409) movie hoping that their box office will crush Marvel's. I seriously hope though, that DC will put some time and thought into their TV shows and stop their bickering with Marvel for if they don't use Arrow at all into their cinematic world, it's just going to become a huge waste of money invested on to creating the show of Arrow if DC seriously does not plan to use Arrow at all (for Arrow does not have the best numbers on TV). I'm not saying DC needs to implement Green Arrow into their line up for the Justice League what I'm saying is that the DC movies need to use Arrow in some shape or form so they get their invested money into the show worth it an possibly increase the viewer count on Arrow as well. For Marvel is already ahead in the game and DC is behind if they don't catch up soon with Arrow, Gotham, and the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie, I believe there will be no comeback from DC for I already have low expectations with the upcoming DC movies, especially the Justice League, for their questionable decisions that DC have made. It will be nearly impossible to fight head on with their colossal rival movie studio of Marvel and will put DC in checkmate if they cannot figure out what they plan to do and want to do with their current projects they are working on.
