Ahhhh, Season 5 what does it hold for Rick’s group and how many months or weeks will it be will The Walking Dead returns in October? Tainted meat what does it mean for those living in Terminus? I know questions and more questions. But I have my own speculation of what Terminus really is all about…and it may not be about cannibalism. Terminus is a quasi-military camp well manned with folks and weapons. Rick, Michonne, Carl and Daryl came through the back door but I speculate the back door was left open. They and (Gareth) included knew they were in the woods…think about it, men with weapons were outside the fence looking in with guns pointed at them. Something more sinister is going on; are they cooking the “walkers” for food. After all everybody is infected. Eating tainted meat probably would not harm nonwalkers if they are freshly dead are you shoot/stab them in the head and then cut them up. Maybe that is way Mary grills the meat but I would think stew is better...in allowing the meat to simmer with veggies….digressing again.
Common cause, of cannibalism is apocalyptic dystopias. After all, when times get tough, the tough eat others who, if cooked right, are less likely to be tough. The quest to survive in a hopeless zombie world would evoke encounters with cannibals. I think it’s obvious in The Walking Dead that cannibals would be around. The world has ended and those that are still alive are scavenging for food which is running out, farm animals may be few if not eaten by the walkers. I think there is so much squirrel and rabbit you can eat before it impacts reproduction of those small critters. Soooo… the obvious would be cannibalism. Without a doubt eating someone's leg/arm is disturbing, but forcing someone to consume a bit of their own leg/arm is more so. Maybe Gareth knows to retain the loyalty of his followers, you got to feed them. Their style of cooking over open flame will appeal to many backyard chefs, but true barbecue purists will regret their use of high heat to cook their meat, rather than going “slow and low…..” Season 5 premiere will consist of a death (s) this will answer the question of what is the deal with Terminus. Not sure if you heard what Gareth said to Rick regarding his son...”Don’t make me kill him now.” Gareth made the same quote again before Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Carl entered the rail car. So we know one thing, Gareth has intentions of killing Rick’s group for what reason is still a guess.
Not sure if the bones are related to cannibalism as much as it may be to feeding walkers to keep them at bay or feeding loved ones. The room with the candles is indeed the back-story to Terminus, words on the walls seem to serve as idioms with underlying message to those living there, coming there and maybe being imprison/killed at Terminus. In a way I hope The Walking Dead doesn’t go for the obvious. I’m hoping for a different sinister environment and functionality, regarding Gareth and Terminus. Terminus can be about trading women for sex and to re-populate the world and using men as slave labor or fighters and bait for walkers. Furthermore, Terminus may be about walker style gladiator fighting...those that win have a place at Terminus once they are brain-washed into the ideology.
I could be wrong but Tyreese and Carol will not save the group because they are hindered by Judith. One thing that Rick would not condone is having Judith in the mist of fighting. After all Judith barely escaped “psycho Lizzie.” Somehow Beth will come into the mix through Gabriel not sure she will be instrumental in helping the group but Beth will be different, Beth will embrace the dark side…Beth will know “her people” are there by the items Gareth seized from Rick and his people. Beth will remember Daryl’s poncho, Michonne’s sword, Hershel’s watch, Daryl’s crossbow and the prison riot gear worn by Glenn.
Beth will no longer believe there are good people in the zombie lawless world. Realistically, I have many speculations of how Beth, Carol, Judith and Tyreese will come into season 5. My second speculation is the screaming we heard coming from the box car was Carol, Beth and Tyreese with others that walked into the spider web of Terminus. Judith was taken by Mary or Gareth.
One more thought about Terminus it may be human trading, money is not important unless you are using it to start/fuel a campfire but humans would be considered a legal tender; yes? No pun intended…... Healthy humans including children would be hot commodity in a world that no longer has resources or the use for paper/coin money. As women would be traded for sex or to impregnate
