After speculation months ago that Paquin's 'Rogue' had been snipped from the final cut of X-Men: DOFP, it seems that we now have confirmation that this was not the case. After her name popped up in the new [X-Men: Days Of Future Past](movie:203942) trailer that went live last night, BuzzFeed asked 20th Century Fox to clarify her inclusion, and the studio confirmed that Paquin would indeed remain in the film, if only as a cameo.

Vulture have provided a breakdown of the involvement that she will have. Confirming that Rogue will be pivotal in a certain scene and thus would have been impossible to cut out of the movie completely.

May Contain Spoilers Ahead!

Days of Future Past begins in a dystopian future where the few remaining mutants are being hunted by fearsome robotic Sentinels, and both Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) decide they can change their present by sending Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) into the past, where he can alter the course of history that will eventually lead to those Sentinels being created. To do this, they employ mutant Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page), who is able to project Wolverine's consciousness back in time and into his younger body.
While Wolverine is gallivanting around in the past with the X-Men: First Class cast, though, Kitty Pryde is injured, and her future hold on Wolverine becomes tenuous. In order to preserve the time travel bond, then, the X-Men must find Rogue, who has the ability to absorb any mutant power.

As if this wasn't exciting enough, the site also confirmed that Paquin is not the only cast member from the original trilogy set to make a cameo. A further 3 have been confirmed to make appearances, but even hinting at their identities would cause major spoilers!

The only actors from the original trilogy that are not yet accounted for (and played main characters) are Famke Janssen (Jean Grey...dead in this continuity), Tyler Mane (Sabertooth..highly unlikely), Aaron Stanford (Pyro), Ben Foster (Angel), and, of course, James Marsten (Cyclops..also dead).

Who do you think is set to make a cameo?
