Now that THE WINTER SOLDIER is out, all the MCU fans are getting geared up for the next installment: THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. With the release of the latest Guardians preview during AGENTS OF SHIELD, the buzz is starting to build.
"The Guardians of the Galaxy consists of several members, all of whom are very selfish for the most part," star Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, says of Marvel's newest superhero squad. "They find that there's something worth fighting for."
Pictured above is that 'something to fight for' which anybody in the know is betting it to be one of the sought after INFINITY GEMS. Which one is anybody's guess. But, to be sure, the Collector is not far behind.
Actor Zoe Saldana, who plays the green skinned assassin Gamora, says
"They're the thieves, the bounty hunters and the neglected," she said. "It's not a typical superhero movie."
This rag-tag group is definitely NOT the Avengers. All of them are wanted for one reason or another. Revenge is at the forefront of this group. Unlike the nobility of a Thor, Steve Rogers or Tony Stark, these aliens represent the other end of the spectrum. But, although criminals, they end up the heroes of this segment of the THANOS/Infinity Guantlet saga.
"The growth of these characters allows the film to kind of create its own personality and identity," said Diesel who plays the Mono-vocab GROOT. "That's always fun, when you're at the frontier of something new."
He and Bradley Cooper are supplying the voices for the two CGI characters of the team and are sure to be the favorites of many.
Kevin Feige , MCU head "'Guardians of the Galaxy' does take place in the same cinematic universe that we've been building, but this movie takes it to the next level."
I'm personally predicting this to be the sleeper hit of the year and one we will clamor for a sequel. I am, at least, hoping Marvel will continue with Space related properties on a regular basis. Nova. Captain Marvel. Quasar. The ideas are endless!
