As 'Amazing' reports begin pouring from overseas on the latest Spider-man movie, Activision makes a decision that is sure to leave X-box One owners feeling a little 'Sinister'! (Sorry, I couldn't help it...)
Activision has confirmed the postponement of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Xbox One but said it will collaborate with Microsoft "in an effort to release" the title at some point. This leaves fans wondering why the delay at all or if it actually WILL release. In the meantime, the game is still due for 3DS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 for April 29th.
A new PlayStation 3 bundle with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is listed on Walmart's website for $269. The 500 GB system also includes the 2012 movie The Amazing Spider-Man, which is available to watch through Vudu's streaming service.
In four markets — the U.K., Germany, Australia and Belgium — the movie already has logged the biggest opening days of the year. In the U.K., Spidey grossed $2.73M. Other markets where Spidey opened are Austria, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, Portugal, Switzerland, Uraguay, Bulgaria, and Sweden.
This is good news for Sony who sunk around $255M, with about $180M to $190M spent on marketing on ASM2’s production budget.
No doubt, the future of the Sony/Spider-man Franchise rests on this movies success. With a third AMAZING SPIDERMAN movie planned along with spin-offs featurning Venom and the Sinister Six, these numbers are a reassuring comfort.
