With the recent release of Amazing Spider-Man 2, I thought I'd recount the worst Spider-Man movies, to the best. It may contain little spoilers, but not intentionally.
This list is totally based on opinion, although, judging by what I read on the internet, most people will agree with me. Here we go!
6) Spider-Man (1977)
Like a lot of old superhero movies, they tried, but the acting was cheesy, and the costume looked weird (But I guess this costume is the most realistic, seeing as a teenager could actually make this) and the villain wasn't even a Spider-Man classic, it was some kind of "Guru".
Don't get me wrong, it was fun to watch, but it was also very painful to watch.
5) Spider-Man 3 (2007)
In an attempt to bring one of the greatest Spider-Man villains of all time to the big screen, it was a massive fail. I wasn't a big fan of Emo Parker and his gay dancing, and the scrawny kid off of "That 70's Show" playing Eddie Brock/Venom. I wasn't sure if they were being serious with the whole "Sandman killed Uncle Ben" thing at first, but I was very disappointed when it was serious. But it would have been hard to top Spider-Man 2.
3.1/10 (I couldn't make it the same so I added .1)
4) Spider-Man (2002)
I loved this movie. The costume was absolutely outstanding, and for it's time, it had some damn good effects. If only they had had Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone for this! Toby Maguire did a great job, but he didn't capture the funny side of Spider-Man, which was a big highlight in the comics.
The villain in this movie was intentionally cheesy, I think. The costume wasn't all that great, but he did a damn good job. Too bad he died at the end.
Without this movie, I don't think mainstream superhero movies, would come to be what they are; Amazing. (Apart from X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
3) The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
When Spider-Man 3 came out, fans knew that we wouldn't see Spider-Man for a while. Well it seems we were wrong. Not even a decade later, this masterpiece was released! Fixing some of the problems in the original trilogy, although making a few more, Amazing Spider-Man really captures both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. A few things I liked better were the overall performance of the actors, the fact that he made mechanical web shooters and the villain was awesome. Rhys did a great job. I know many will disagree here, but I actually preferred this costume to the original trilogy (Obviously TASM2's was the best) the only thing I didn't like, was that the eye pieces were sun glasses. Other than that, this costume was awesome.
2) Spider-Man 2 (2004)
This movie has been seen as one of the greatest superhero movies of all time. And it truly is. On a rare occasion where the sequel is greater than the first, Spider-Man 2 delivers an action packed movie with one of the best Spider-Man foes of all time. it is darker than the first and third (Even though the third contains a personality changing goo from outer space) and gives us a in depth look at Harry Osborne's true side.
This movie set up Spider-Man 3 well, too bad I guess.
1) Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro
Not only greatly improving from it's first movie, Amazing Spider-Man 2 gives us what we thought would never work on the big screen; Electro. Ever since Spider-Man 2, fans have speculated to how they would make Electro work. Well the secret ingredient was making him black because he had an outstanding performance! (Sorry if anyone felt that was a teeny tiny bit racist)
I though that Green Goblin did improve from Spider-Man (2002), but I think if he had had a mask, he could maintain the mystery of who the Green Goblin is.
This movie also sets up one of the most anticipated things to be on the big screen apart from Batman vs. Superman....THE SINISTER SIX!
