Many people worry and get concerned when they here a video game is going to be made into movie, and we have perfect reason to. Look at the Assassin's Creed movie coming out next year with Michael Fassbender, it doesn't look like its going to be, granted, I don't know what direction its going in. They're having problems with production, there isn't a director, only Fassbender has been cast, and its taking a turn to not being good. If you look at Star Wars, already has a director, already has its cast, already started filming, and it comes out about 6 months later. Now you may be thinking, its a bigger franchise with much more to lose, they have been only thinking about Star Wars. But that doesn't mean Assassin's Creed can't at least have a director, seriously, they need to get going before its to late.
I've gotten a little off track. Look at many video game movies, 90% of the time, they suck. But I thought of a video game that could make a great movie, but it needs the right director(my choice would be Zack Snyder for his work on 300), great cast, and don't change the story, take liberties when and where they can, but don't got to far off track. The video game I would love to see as a movie would be Stronghold 2. The campaign is 12 different missions, but the last 6 chapters are a choice of what side you're on.
Its a simple story, a lord(Sir Matthew) is slowly earning more land and more power is being mentored by another lord(Sir William) that's a more lordship. They are both searching for The King of the lands and they think another lord(Barclay) kidnapped him and is being held in his castle. When they find out he isn't they start searching the land and run into troubles on the way(Viking Warlord Olaf, William's French brother, a lord with bull tactics under the name McCloud, a snakelike lord names Edwin, and Lady Seren, one who was supposed to marry William but it was called off when she was presumed a traitor) and need to fight their way through and save bishops.
Its a great game, I think everyone should play it. Let me know what you think, and what games you might want to see as a movie.
