The Horror Honeys

It's a pretty typical thing to see a big name attached as Executive Producer to give a horror film traction - Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino, Clive Barker, even Tim Burton - but would you ever expect to see Drew Barrymore's name attached to a horror film in this way? It's obviously no secret that Drew has a bit of an affinity for the horror genre - with roles in Firestarter, Poison Ivy, Scream, Donnie Darko, (and more obviously) Drew is no stranger to the weirder side of film making.

Animal, however, seems to be a complete departure!

The Story: Animal follows a group of close-knit friends who find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory, pursued by a blood-thirsty predator. Holed up in an isolated cabin, tensions mount as secrets are revealed. As the body count rises, the group puts their differences aside and fights for survival.

WAIT - unfamiliar territory? A remote cabin? Character development under stressful circumstances? This sounds like a TOTALLY fresh and new idea!!!

As you may have guessed I'm being completely facetious, but with Gary J Tunnicliffe, the mastermind behind the Hellraiser series' makeup FX on the case, I'm hoping that the monster promised on the new poster will live up to it's gooey reputation and that we'll see some really gruesome deaths.

Animal will be in theatres and on VOD June 17th, 2014 - will you be catching it?
