There is no denying that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D started with a bang then had a lil dip and then picked up again. So the show has seen clear success. They have even surprised us with guest appearances with character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Nick Fury, Maria Hill and Sif. They have even introduced some character from the comics such as Victoria Hand, Deathlok and Lorelei. But like myself did you hope for more? I thought they were going to use this series as a chance to introduce some slightly bigger characters ready to take them into the big blockbusters. Here are just a couple of things that I think they could have done that they have missed the chance with.

Hulk Out!
Hulk Out!

They could have done a two part story which featured Bruce Banner coming to aid the team. In this story they could also introduce his cousin Jen Walters. During the story a fight could break out making Bruce to green up and Hulk up. Poor Jen would be injured in the battle and need a blood transfusion and unfortunately the only compatible donor would Banner himself causing Jen to transform into She-Hulk. For those who have read the comics or know of the Hulk's comic past this would sound very familiar to you. But lets face it having two Hulks smacking down would be brilliant! It would also bring another brilliant character that they could then cross over from the TV series to the Cinematic Universe.

Black Panther

With it being pretty much all over the net that Black Panther could feature in Avengers Age of Ultron they could have had a brilliant connection from the first Avengers film to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and finally to Age of Ultron. They could have done an episode where the team are forced to go to Wakanda! While there they could have met the Black Panther who is King T'Chaka and he reluctantly allows them access to his country and assists them while they are there. In a nutshell T'Chaka would be killed in the episode and Coulson and Co would save the country. Now how would this tie all 3 together, well Coulson obviously. In Age of Ultron the new Black Panther T'Chala would be sceptical of outsider but Coulson would be the one he trust and joins the team of Avengers by the end of the movie.

Bobby Morse - Mockingbird
Bobby Morse - Mockingbird

Mockingbird is a cool character. She is a brilliant fighter and great with espionage. Why they have not brought her into the show is beyond me. She is an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D so lets face it the difficult part of how to drop her into the show is pretty much taken care of. So it would have simply been a case of creating an episode where the need someone who is extremely skilled at breaking in to some crazy complex. They could have even name dropped by having Coulson remark "Was Black Widow unavailable?" which would then make Mockingbird show off some of her skill to show she is just as good as Widow, she is simple blonde.

Dr Stephen Strange

Now we also know Marvel have plans for the Sorcerer Supreme, so they could have come up with some way to link to his upcoming movie. They did not neccisarilly have to bring in Strange, they could have brought in either Wong his assistant or Clea one of Stange's greatest allies. Also it could have been cool to see how Marvel plan to portray the magic of the Marvel Universe. It would have also been good to see which of the members of the team are open to the idea of magic being real and who believe in science.

Carol Danvers - Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers - Captain Marvel

Carol has also been mentioned by Marvel as a potential future hero to hit the screens. See as in the comics she was an Major in the Air Force before gaining her powers they could have used that aspect of her in the show. They could have had it so a pilot carrying vital intelligence had gone down and Coulson and Co had to be the ones to help her as the intelligence is vital to an investigation of theirs. This way Carol would have entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe and been ready to hit the big screen.

These are just 5 ideas I had but basically I was expecting more big names to appear in the series and I feel that they have actually tried to avoid doing this. Do you think the series was a chance to introduce characters without having a 2 hour long film? Who would you have liked to see in the show?
