One day, in the distant future, we're going to wake up to the most terrible of news: The Walking Dead has not been renewed for a new season.

However, before you start hyperventilating in panic at the thought of no longer having walkers in your life, please remain calm: The Walking Dead is going to be around for a very long time to come. In fact, according to showrunner Scott M. Gimple, we could get decades more zombie mayhem.

Talking to Larry King, Gimple admitted:

As a comic book, I don’t know if it will end. As a TV show, all TV shows end. But I will say, I think it’s possible that it could go on and on and on. I think if it went ten years…if it went longer than that it’s possible that the cast, considering the amount of deaths on this cast and everything else, after ten or twelve years, it could shift into a whole new cast.

Best. News. Ever.

[The Walking Dead](series:201193) will continue to run as long as us, the fans, continue to watch the show. And considering the recently-ended Season 4 broke ratings records yet again, I think we can safely assume The Walking Dead ain't going anywhere for a while.

How long do you think The Walking Dead will continue for?

How many seasons of the show will we get?
