Of all the casting choices made throughout the history of comic book movies, there have been some awful ones. But none has ever been so perfect as Sam Raimi’s pick for J.J. Jameson; J.K. Simmons.
You may have a lot to say about the choice of Toby McGuire or the casting of some of the villains, but NOBODY and I mean NOBODY has anything but respect for Simmon's depiction of the fast talking, abrasive head of the Daily Bugle. And, although we've said it many times and been wrong, I don't see anyone filling his shoes.
SO, when Marc Webb was questioned about bringing J.J. Jameson back in future installments of the Amazing Spiderman franchise, he couldn't even discuss it without bringing Simmons name up.

“I like the idea very much of him coming up in the next film. It was more easy to accept a new Spider-Man than someone who could outdo J.K. Simmons in that role, he is so iconic. That’s something we’ve really talked about. Obviously I love that character because he poses such an interesting dilemma for Spider-Man. The answer is I don’t know, but I think you can expect to see him in the future.”
I personally could not be happier. The one thing that was total GOLD from the original Spiderman Trilogy was Jameson and I would welcome Simmons back in the role.
